Bangalore: Despite being caught on the backfoot, the BJP has thrown its weight behind Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa and ruled out his resignation on the land scam issue saying it cannot be compared with the Adarsh scam.
Reacting to CNN-IBN's expose on the Karnataka Chief Minister selling government land to his sons, the BJP said that the issue is not like the Adarsh scam.
Over 2000 Documents exclusively accessed by CNN-IBN show that the CM bent every rule to ensure allotment of land for his sons and other family members.
The documents show that the Yeddyurappa's sons Raghavendra and Vijayendra were favoured because of their father's position after he became Deputy chief minister in 2006.
Going by market rate the brothers are now sitting on land worth Rs 500 crore.
The Chief Minister is also accused of favouring his daughter Umadevi in setting up a BPO.
According to the BJP, the scam is being used by the Congress to deflect attention from all the corruption allegations it has been faced with.
