Belgaum: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister R Ashok on Friday said former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa's departure would have no bearing on BJP government and KJP does not have any future. "Yeddyurappa's departure will not make any impact on BJP government and Karnataka Janata Party has no future," Ashok told reporters.

Taking an indirect swipe at Yeddyurappa, Ashok said the BJP is a national party and not built by an individual. "It is a party built by party workers," he said. BJP leaders did their best to retain Yeddyurappa in the party, Ashok said and admitted his contribution to the growth of BJP in Karnataka.

Replying to a query on whether he will refuse permission to Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti to hold 'Maha Melava' on December 5, Ashok said he would discuss the issue with Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar.
