Mumbai: If you are a Mumbaikar and planning to splurge some money on a mean machine, it's time you head to Sakshi Art Gallery before making the investment.
For, artist Valay Shende will surely make you think again on your plans to invest on a luxury car. And if you are to buy his take on the world, you're definitely going to go straight to the bank.
Well, literally! It's the first solo exhibition of the 26-year-old artist and it's a larger-than-life display of his talent as a sculptor.
His sculptural installations are unconventional in the way they use gadgetry and also because of their ominous portrayal of the common man's trials and tribulations. Political, hard-hitting and complex, this artist has a completely different take on the world.
“90 per cent people are just enjoying life and only 10 per cent enlighten the society. I believe I’m one of the 10 per cent.†That's how Shende likes to see the world. Shende's work also exhibits a remarkable level of technical wizardry.
Though his first show at the Sakshi Art Gallery is over, it would be a good idea to look out for his collection and collect his stuff while its still affordable.
