Palode (Kerala): He's not a Masters in Technology, nor is he an IIT graduate. But 22-year-old Sajeem is an inventor and scientist in his own right.
Sanjeem has created a motorbike that runs on kerosene and can carry six people. The sparkling green machine has already made him a hero in his hometown Palode.
The youngster says rising fuel prices was the reason he wanted to create an economical vehicle.
“I wanted to fight this ever rising fuel prices. My bike can take more than seven people at a mileage of only Rs 40. Moreover, I wanted to do something, which will stand out from the rest,” Sanjeem says.
And if that’s not impressive, Sajeem has more up his sleeve.
Apart from generating electricity, from wind, at his house to ensure his family doesn't sweat it out in the power-cut-infested summers, Sanjeem's latest invention is called 'girlfriend'
The gadget is something young ladies can use to keep eve-teasers away. At the press of a small switch, it generates an electric shock on the attacker when in contact.
When we asked him his take on education, Sanjeem's answer was simple.
“Education alone can be of no use. What are we going to achieve by rot learning? I think only if we apply our mind properly we can do a lot of things. I never used to waste time, but rather used to play with electronic equipments to come up with something big,” Sajeem says.
Meanwhile, Sajeem's work has sent a strong signal - that when it comes to inventions, education matters little.
