New Delhi: Younis Khan resigned as Pakistan skipper on Tuesday after being being grilled by the Standing Committee on Sports of the National Assembly.

PCB chairman Ejaz Butt and coach Intikhab Alam appeared before the committee along with Younis in Islamabad to respond to the match-fixing allegations labeled against them during the Champions Trophy in South Africa.

The Chairman of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Sports, Jamshed Khan Dasti, had made allegations of match-fixing by the Pakistan team in the Champions Trophy.

Dasti had pointed a finger at the Pakistan team after they lost to Australia in their last league game, which forced India out of the tournament.

Pakistan were knocked out by New Zealand in the semi-final of the tournament.
