HYDERABAD: A youngster, who was illegally running a hookah centre-cum-snooker parlour, was nabbed by the police following a raid on an apartment at Shivam Road.
On information, East Zone Task Force sleuths raided Royal Exotica Apartments at Tilak Nagar crossroads and nabbed the parlour manager, Nikesh of Shaikpet. Nikesh (21), was running the hookah centre under the name ‘Express ooh De Coffee Lounge’ from the apartment.
Additional DCP, Task Force, Suhas Chaturvedi said Nikesh had not obtained permission from authorities concerned for running the parlour . Further, he was allowing teenagers to consume hookah in closed cabins on the premises.
Police said being summer vacation, hookah centres and snooker parlours have become hang-out spots for youngsters and students.
“These youngsters might easily get attracted to vices and they might get involved in property offences,” a police officer said.
The manager of the hookah parlour was handed over to Nallakunta police for further action.
