New Delhi: While our solo Indian Nominees Debashish Bhattacharya and Lakshmi Shankar may have been disappointed at the Grammy's, Ustaad Zakir hussain is a very happy man.
He has won a Grammy along with four other international musicians for the album global drum project.
In 1991 he shared in the glory a Grammy for the album planet drum along with nine other musicians. In 2007, he was nominated for his album golden strings of the sarode, but remained a nominee.
“I am humbled. This is an important award as our fellows judge us and decide who wins. So this is very important award,” says Zakir Hussain.
For 57-year-old Zakir who remains active with his table beat science project as well as numerous musical experiments and performances, the Grammy will definitely be a boost for many more musical offering ahead.
