
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association members have demanded that the association chairman Aslam Goni, who is accused of embezzled BCCI funds, should be sacked and its members should seek re-election. The members held a closed door meeting with JKCA President Farooq Abdullah where they expressed their apprehension of Goni continuing as Chairman despite the allegations.
Sources said that Abdullah assured JKCA members that the BCCI would audit JKCA accounts to probe the alleged financial irregularities.
Despite the allegations Goni had been promoted and named the Indian cricket team' manager for Twenty20 match in South Africa. The Twenty20 between India and South Africa was played on March 30 at Johannesburg.
The BCCI is yet to start an inquiry or call for a probe into the scam. A petition was filed on March 13 in Jammu and Kashmir High Court seeking a CBI probe into the multi-crore rupee scam. Avtar Krishan Tickoo and other members of Kashmir Cricket Club filed the petition before the High Court seeking a direction to CBI for registration of FIR and investigation into the financial fraud....
