Pakistan: Sarabjit's lawyer Sheikh abducted, freed Lahore: AAwais Sheikh, the lawyer of Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh who died after a murderous assault on him inside Lahore's Kot Lakhpat Jail, was allegedly abducted along with his son on Thursday morning in Pakistan and freed after a few hours in captivity.

A few hours after the abduction, Sheikd told some media persons that he and his son had been freed.

Sheikh had claimed a threat to his life because he was fighting the case of an Indian prisoner, who had been convicted of terror charges and spying.

The father-son duo was reportedly abducted by a group of unknown gunmen from an area near the border with India. According to Pakistani news website dawn.com the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Lahore Jawad Ahmad Dogar confirmed that Sheikh had been kidnapped, adding that an investigative team had been constituted for his recovery....more
