Pune BPO staff murder: HC confirms death for convicts Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Monday confirmed the death sentence for the two convicts in the rape and murder case of a BPO employee in Pune. The 22-year-old BPO employee was raped and murdered in 2007.

The victim was raped and killed in November 2007. Her body was found at Wadgaon, off the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, on the outskirts of Pune a day later.

The driver of her office cab, Purshottam Borate and a friend of his, Pradip Kokate, were arrested and charged with rape and murder. They were awarded the death penalty in March 2012 by a sessions court in Pune. The men were said to have been working for a logistics company which used to supply vehicles to the call centre.

This comes days after the Bombay High Court had upheld the conviction of the accused. The case was being heard by a division bench of Justice V M Kanade and Justice P D Kode....more
