
New Delhi: The man whose power connection was reconnected by anti-corruption activist Arvind Kejriwal bowed to the law after he sold off his television set to take a loan and pay his bill dues. Roshan Sharma said, "My family and I were being harassed. So I sold our TV and took a loan to pay our Rs 4500-bill."
FIRs have been filed against the Delhi households whose power connections Kejriwal had personally restored last week. Kejriwal last week began a campaign against inflated electricity bills in Delhi and had dared the board to file an FIR against him for fixing connections.
Kejriwal has now written to the police asking to file the FIRs against him instead. Kejriwal and his team have been targetting the Delhi government since last Friday over inflated bills. They had gone house to house restoring connections as a mark of protest, burnt electricity bills and even protested outside the the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission office.
