CWG scam: CBI raids DDA and CPWD officers New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is conducting raids on Delhi Development Authority and Central Public Works Department officers in connection with laying of synthetic turf for lawn bowl event during the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. The raids are being carried out at 20 places in Delhi and the National Capital Region.

The searches are being conducted at residential and officials premises of DDA and CPWD officials along with those of Jubilee Sports Private Limited.

CNN-IBN had first exposed the scandal in the laying of the lawn tracks. The synthetic turf was built at a cost of around Rs 1.36 crore when it could have been done at just Rs 27 lakh.

Documents with CNN-IBN show lawn bowl track for National Games were built at a price of Rs 18.37 lakh but the same for Commonwealth Games have been built at Rs 1.35 crore....more
