In pics: Gurunath Meiyappan's lies nailed?

The Chennai Super Kings' claim that Gurunath Meiyappan had no link with the team has been nailed. CNN-IBN has accessed visiting cards recovered from Gurunath Meiyappan's residence naming him as the Chennai Super Kings Team Principal.

The Twitter handle bio of Gurunath Meiyappan was updated and the reference to CSK was removed a few minutes after it came to light that he was described as Team Principal Chennai Super Kings.

The Chennai Super Kings' official website also seemed to have scrubbed all references to the BCCI chief N Srinivasan's son-in-law.

He may have retired from international cricket earlier this year, but Michael Hussey showed exactly why he still remains impossible to distract at the crease. With a staggering 732 runs from 17 matches at an average of 56.30, Hussey holds the prestigious orange cap.

Perhaps the most consistent batsman of all six seasons combined, Suresh Raina has played a pivotal role in Chennai's road to the final. Raina not only notched up his first IPL century (100 not out against Kings XI Punjab), but also followed it up with 99 not out against Sunrisers Hyderabad two games later. Raina has managed 548 runs from 17 matches.

MS Dhoni finds himself right where he belongs. Guiding his side to their fourth straight IPL final, Dhoni has led from the front on several occasions. Apart from providing stability in crisis situations, he has unleashed his big hitting capabilities whenever CSK needed quick runs towards the end. His demolition of Hyderabad's Dale Steyn at home was a testimony of his strength.

After opting to bat, CSK were off to a good start with Murali Vijay (31) and Michael Hussey (26) compiling a solid 61-run stand before Vijay was run-out against the run of play.

After Vijay was run out by Ben Rohrer, one over later, Michael Hussey too departed as Virender Sehwag took a neat catch in the deep.

Ravindra Jadeja (24) joined MS Dhoni in the middle as the duo compiled a 57-run stand in 32 balls.

Chennai were off to a stellar start as rookie Ankit Rajpoot dismissed Ricky Ponting for 6 runs in the fourth over after Dirk Nannes got rid of Sachin Tendulkar for a duck in the first over.

Dwayne Bravo then dealt a double blow dismissing Rohit Sharma and the in-form Dinesh Karthik in a span of two overs to put Mumbai in trouble.
