Pictures: Minor raped in Delhi, angry protesters hit the streets

Delhi witnessed anger on Friday and Saturday as the news of the rape of a five-year-old girl emerged. The five-year-old girl was raped in east Delhi's Gandhi Nagar area. Police said the girl was locked up in the room by the accused for almost 40 hours.The five-year-old is being treated at AIIMS and doctors say she is stable and responding to antibiotics. It was barely months ago, when the rape of a 23-year-old paramedical student in Delhi sparked public fury.

'Midnight's Children' to 'Garam Hava': 10 films based on India-Pakistan partition

Marred by the separation and partition of the country, many Bollywood filmmakers dabbled with the subject on 70mm. Be it Deepa Mehta's 'Midnight's Children' or M. S. Sathyu's 'Garam Hava'.  Making a screen adaptation of Salman Rushdie's much popular book 'Midnight's Children', Deepa Mehta'd film talks about the transition from British colonialism to Independence. Deepa Mehta's film '1947 Earth' brought forth the pain, tragedy and loss related to partition. Set in Lahore, the film tells the story through the friendship between a Hindu and two Muslim men. Based on Ismat Chuhgtai's short story, 'Garam Hava' deals with the plight of North Indian Muslim family after the partition. 'Garam Hava' is one of the most noted films on partition.
