New Delhi: In another shocking turn of events, Vindoo Dara Singh, the Bollywood actor arrested on Tuesday in connection with spot-fixing in IPL 6, has admitted to being in touch with a relative of the owner of the Chennai Super Kings franchise, according to sources on Wednesday morning.
Sources in the Mumbai Police said that they were now probing a Chennai link to the scandal that has rocked the world of cricket. Vindoo has been seen in the franchise's VIP box on several occasions this season and the police was probing how he had ready access to the box. Sources also informed that several calls made to a Chennai number were being probed.
The latest sad episode in cricket began with the Delhi police implicating three Rajasthan Royals players - Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan - in spot-fixing last week. All the three players are behind bars and several arrests have been made over the last six days.
The Mumbai Police arrested actor Vindoo in their IPL probe in what's now the first direct link of Bollywood with the betting mafia.
