France refuses to interfere in B'lore rape case Bangalore: France on Monday refused to interfere in a rape case involving an official of its consulate in Bangalore, saying Indian law will take its own course as the accused does not enjoy diplomatic immunity.

French government sources said in Delhi that Indian law will take its course as the accused does not hold a diplomatic passport and enjoys no immunity.

Police have registered a case of rape against Pascal Mazurier, an official in the French Consulate General in Bangalore.

"An investigation is under way for which this Consulate General is extending its full cooperation with the police and the authorities in charge in the matter," a statement issued by the Consulate-General of France said....more
