IPL betting: Mumbai Police summons CSK CEO Gurunath Meiyappan Chennai: The Mumbai Police team on Thursday had to leave Chennai Super Kings CEO Gurunath Meiyappan's residence without questioning him as he was not in Chennai. They handed over the summons to those present at Meiyappan's residence. The police team was, in fact, made to wait outside Meiyappan's residence for quite a few minutes.

Sources say that Gurunath Meiyappan has been asked to be in Mumbai before Monday for questioning in connection with the IPL betting case. Sources also add that the Chennai Super Kings management will meet Mumbai Police officials on Thursday.

Meanwhile, there is still no clarity on where Gurunath Meiyappan is. Sources say he is in constant touch with his legal team and is likely to reply to the Mumbai Police's summon soon.

This comes after arrested Bollywood actor Vindoo Dara Singh said he placed bets on behalf of Meiyappan in the Indian Premier League. Sources have also told CNN-IBN that apart from Meiyappan, other functionaries in the Chennai Super Kings may also be quizzed. ...more
