
Mumbai: Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's 'Gangs of Wasseypur' won the National Film Award for best sound recording, but he will boycott felicitating ceremony on Thursday evening. This comes after two of his award-winning sound team members were not invited for the presentation ceremony.
Sound engineers Alok De, Sinoy Joseph and Shreejesh Nair couldn't contain their joy when they were pronounced as the winners of the Best Audiography National Film Award for 'Gangs of Wasseypur' earlier in March. But only one of the three, Alok De, has received an invitation to the 60th National Film Awards presentation ceremony.
"All 3 names were mentioned, later we kept contacting them and we didn't receive our invites. On 26th finally when we got in touch with them and we were informed we would not win the award," Shreejesh Nair said.
They were informed that only Part 1 of the film was selected for the honour, hence, only Alok De would be receiving the award. The team of the film approached the Information and Broadcasting Ministry but hasn't received any response as yet. ...
