Parties should adhere to model code of conduct: EC New Delhi: England were cruising until the 42 overs chasing 338 against India on Sunday, with skipper Andrew Strauss roaring like a lion, plundering runs in all corners of the ground with purple-pathcer Ian Bell but everything changed when the thought of taking batting powerplay crossed the English skipper’s mind at the start of over No. 43.

Strauss decided to take the batting powerplay at that juncture and with that, asking Indian skipper MS Dhoni to bring his team's bowling spearhead - Zaheer Khan – back into the attack.

The 32-year-old didn't disappoint his skipper and England’s fairytale run-chase fell on its face just because of an ill-timed decision.

Zaheer first got rid of Bell (69 off 71 balls) and followed it up by trapping the English skipper right in front of the wicket to send the crowd into a frenzy and Strauss into disbelief over his decision....more
