Hamirpur: Uttar Pradesh's poor law and order situation was once against highlighted when a former students' union leader and one more person was allegedly killed by the mining mafia.
Former students' union leader Raman Singh had been protesting against illegal mining in Morang. He was allegedly cornered by the mining mafia in Hamirpur late on Sunday night and shot dead. One more person was shot dead along with Singh.
But police officials say Singh was killed due to an old enmity, They say they have got some clues about the killers and would arrest them soon. A massive hunt has been launched to apprehend the killers.
The police have already registered a case and are investigating the matter....
