The unbelievable work Hollywood puts into casting for biopics

It's an exciting time with 13 biopics in the offing in Hollywood. But what's even better is the casting coup that filmmakers pulled off with the leads.Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie will play the role of Marilyn Monroe in a movie about the last two years of her life. Andrew O'Hagan, who wrote the book The Life and Opinions of Maf The Dog, and of His Friend Marilyn Monroe, said the 'Salt' star is being considered in the Hollywood adaptation of his novel. The book tells the story of the Some Like It Hot actress' two years prior to her death in 1962 from the perspective of her dog Maf, given to her as a gift from Sinatra. In 'Hitchcock' Anthony Hopkins stars as the legendary director Alfred Hitchcock. The film explores the domestic life of one of Hollywood's most iconic and revered directors, set during the days of his struggle to put the ground-breaking 1960 classic, 'Psycho' on the silver screen.Toggling back and forth between his on-set battles with censors and his cast including Janet Leigh (Scarlett Johansson), Vera Miles (Jessica Biel) and Tony Perkins (James D'Arcy), and his strained relationship with his wife Alma as she copes with his well-documented obsession with his ravishing leading ladies, 'Hitchcock' treats film fans to a glimpse of bygone Hollywood.British-born actress Naomi Watts will play the role of Princess Diana in an upcoming biopic of the late royal, 'Diana'. The film, likely to generate intense media interest in Britain and the United States where the late princess was hugely popular, had originally been titled 'Caught in Flight'. The film would be a compelling portrait of Diana, Princess of Wales during the final two years of her life. It charts how finding true personal happiness allowed her to achieve her defining successes, as she evolved into a major international campaigner and humanitarian. There has been speculation in the media that the plot will explore Diana's relationships in the period leading up to her death in a Paris car crash in 1997 aged 36. One of those was believed to have been with Hasnat Khan, a British-Pakistani surgeon who is being played by British actor Naveen Andrews.
