Hisar: Two cases of alleged honour killings have been reported from Haryana, a state which has gained notoriety for the ghastly crime. In the first case a father allegedly murdered his daughter as he was opposed to her relationship with a boy from the same village while in the other case a young man was beaten to death by the girl's family.
According to the police, in the first case the girl was a resident of Baas village in Hisar district girl. She was reportedly in a relationship with her classmate and when her father opposed her affair, she eloped with her boyfriend.
The lovers were traced by the police and brought back to the village. Fearing for her life, the girl refused to return to her family. Later, she was sent to a safe house following a court order from where she was transferred to a women welfare centre in Karnal after two days.
However, her paternal aunt took guarantee for her safety and the welfare centre allowed the girl to go with her. But after 13 days the girl's grandfather and father reached her aunt's house and assured her that she would be safe with them. So, her aunt allowed her to return to her parents' home....
