
Colombo: Sri Lanka medium pacer Chanaka Welegedara has been ruled out of the team's Champions Trophy campaign in England next month.
The 32-year-old Welegedara, who has not played ODI cricket in three years, injured his foot during a domestic fixture earlier this month.
He will be replaced by allrounder Dilhara Lokuhettige, who played his last one day international way back in 2005. Lokuhettige, however, has been in fine form with the ball lately, taking plenty of wickets for Sri Lanka Cricket Combined XI.
The inclusion of Lokuhettige, however, is subject to the ICC's technical committee's approval. Sri Lanka have been pooled with hosts England, defending champions Australia and New Zealand in Group A. They will play their first match against New Zealand at Sophia Gardens in Wales on June 9....
