
New Delhi: BCCI President N Srinivasan is under increasing pressure to resign in view of the IPL spot-fixing and betting probe and his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan's alleged involvement in the case. The Goa Cricket Association has now asked the board chief to resign pending an inquiry.
"I think Srinivasan should step down and allow the probe to continue. He has to resign as he has no other option," Goa Cricket Association VP Shekhar Salkar said.
However, Srinivasan's supporters are also speaking up. Tripura cricket bosses say he has no reason to step down. "Till the probe is over, we can't say if someone is guilty," said Tripura Cricket Association General Secretary Arindam Ganguly.
But more and more voices are coming out against Srinivasan. Former BCCI Secretary Jaywant Lele also said he must step down till the probe is on. Former Secretary of the Rajasthan Cricket Association Sanjay Dixit has said, "Till the probe is on, the least Srinivasan can do is step aside, he can go on a sabbatical."...
