Is it time for N Srinivasan to quit as BCCI boss? New Delhi: As events unfold in the Indian Premier League spot-fixing and betting scandal, one man who would be watching it all happen closely is BCCI chief N Srinivasan. With his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan's arrest in the case, pressure is mounting on Srinivasan to resign as the BCCI top boss.

Former IPL chief Lalit Modi, Sahara India chief Subrata Roy and now even, as sources indicate, the BCCI top brass, want Srinivasan to go. Sources say the BCCI top brass is pushing for the body's disciplinary committee chief Arun Jaitley to be the interim chief.

Srinivasan, meanwhile, has been defiant. Even as reports on Friday said that he will resign if Meiyappan is arrested, things changed after Meiyappan was actually arrested. Srinivasan, told CNN-IBN that he was not resigning and would complete his tenure.

This even as the demand for his resignation is growing every hour. On Friday, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) spokesperson DP Tripathi told reporters that Srinivasan should resign as chief of the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) in India. Tripathi also demanded tough laws to deal with match fixing. The NCP is headed by union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar who has been a former chief of the BCCI.
