
Chandigarh: Lobsang Sangay, senior fellow of Harvard Law School, will be the next "Kalon Tripa" or the Prime Minister of the Tibetan Government in Exile. The election results of Tibetan Parliament-in-exile and Prime Minister were announced in Dharamshala on Wednesday in which Sangay was declared the winner.
The results were announced after counting ended for the 15th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and third directly elected Prime Minister-in-exile.
Sangay polled 55 per cent votes out of 49189, defeating his nearest rival Tethong Tenzin Namgyal by 8,646 votes, Election Commissioner Jampal Chosang announced in Dharamshala.
Tethong Tenzin Namgyal, a Standford scholar, polled 18,405 votes while Tashi Wangdi, the Dalai Lama's representative in Brussels, New York and New Delhi, finished third....
