IPL: Srinivasan meets Dalmiya, will BCCI ask him to quit? New Delhi: The crisis in the Indian Premier League continues and the heat is on BCCI chief N Srinivasan to quit after his son-in-law and Chennai Super Kings CEO Gurunath Meiyappan was arrested by the Mumbai Police late on Saturday night on charges of betting and spot-fixing.

However, a defiant Srinivasan said that he will not be bulldozed into resigning and that he has done no wrong. Sources said that the BCCI working committee will consider impeachment if Srinivasan doesn't step down.

The board's top brass is in talks with former ICC chief Sharad Pawar and Jagmohan Dalmiya. Besides Dalmiya and Srinivasan, Indian Premier League Commissioner Rajeev Shukla, board vice president Chitrak Mitra and functionaries of Cricket Association of Bengal were present at the dinner in a South Kolkata five-star hotel.

Meanwhile, a Mumbai court sent Meiyappan to police custody till May 29. The police told the court that Meiyappan placed bets through Bollywood actor Vindoo Dara Singh and he may have passed on inside information to Vindoo....more
