Incessant rains hit air traffic in Mumbai, 6 flights diverted Mumbai: Heavy rains have brought life to a standstill in Mumbai and parts of Maharashtra. Two people died in rain related incidents on Sunday while flooding was reported from Lonavala and Khed in the Ratnagiri district.

The monsoon has also hit flights to Mumbai. Six flights have been diverted overnight due to bad weather including an international flight. More rain has been forecast for Monday.

Trains were also rescheduled on Sunday. The Met department has predicted extremely heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours and the BMC has issued an advisory that Mumbaikars should try and remain indoors.

With six more high tides to go, the BMC certainly needs to buck up to avoid the same monsoon narrative....more
