'Missed call' affair ends in woman's suicide CHENNAI: An alleged affair between a married woman and a man younger to her, that began with a missed call, ended on a tragic note with the woman found hanging at a guesthouse here on Wednesday. Sources said, Reena Devi (28) of Bihar, was found hanging at Akash Guesthouse on Murugappa Chetty Street, Flower Bazaar.

On a complaint from the manager N Shankar Ganesh, a police team sent the body to the GGH. Probe showed that Reena had eloped with Ashok Patel (23) of Uttar Pradesh to Lalgudi, where he worked.Reenas husband Dhan Pratap Singh (33) was an LIC agent and the couple had three children, investigating officer Shanmugham told Express.Their relationship appears to have begun when she received a missed call on her cell phone sent by the youth, the inspector said.

However, Ashok soon developed cold feet and boarded a train to Chennai with Reena and her kids on Wednesday and escaped after abandoning them at Egmore station. Her relatives picked her up, the officer said. Her family members booked a room at the guesthouse and awaited the return of her brother, who was to come from Lalgudi. Her husband berated her for her actions and later stepped out to an ATM, the inspector said. On returning, he found that she had hanged herself with a sari.
