'Tigerman' takes on monkeys at Bangalore University Bangalore: Authorities in the Bangalore University have been using the help of a tiger to get rid of the monkey menace. H Jagadeesh, a gardener at the Bangalore University, dresses like a tiger and in his majestic stripes, goes around trying to scare away the monkeys that have become a menace on campus, waiting around departments to pounce on people and their bags.

It is one of the country's largest universities with over 300 affiliated colleges. Across its vast campus, in classrooms, canteens and official quarters, more time is spent on worrying about monkeys than their own university work.

University officials say the tiger camouflage worked initially, but now monkeys have become smart enough to recognise them as humans. Tiger man Jagadeesh has even been attacked a couple of times. He now usually has to move around with an escort. "It's not that I'm scared but dogs too attack me. So I only go around with someone," Jagadeesh says.
