Zimbabwean prez 'unwell', in Singapore hospital Durban: President Robert Mugabe, who has ruled Zimbabwe with an iron fist since its independence from Britain in 1980, is battling for his life with an undisclosed illness at a hospital in Singapore, media reports said.

The 88-year-old dictator is undergoing intensive treatment in Asia, an unnamed senior official of his ZANU-PF party was quoted as saying by 'The Zimbabwe Mail' newspaper.

Mugabe, who underwent several bouts of therapy in Asia in recent years, was flown to Singapore by a private jet on Saturday for treatment; his wife Grace and family members are at the dictator's bedside, according to the reports.

Britain strips Mugabe of his knighthood
by IANS
Birmingham: Buttler's international best performance effectively accounted for the victory margin with the Somerset batsman hitting three sixes and two fours. The 22-year-old's deft use of the ramp shot and some powerful hitting was mainly responsible for South Africa left-arm quick Wayne Parnell conceding 32 runs in the ninth over -- the second most expensive in Twenty20 internationals. Mugabe wins re-election after opposition pulls out As expected, India thrashed New Zealand 2-0 in the Tests and while the victory in Bangalore wasn't as convincing as one would have liked, the team drew a lot of positives from the series. Though the form of veterans like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and Zaheer Khan is a worrying factor, youngsters like Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, R Ashwin and Pragyan Ojha made a strong impression.
