Quash land allotted to Subhash Ghai in Haryana: HC Chandigarh: In a major setback to Bollywood producer and director Subhash Ghai, the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday ordered quashing of allotment of 20 acres of village common land in Haryana to him for for his production company Mukta Arts.

The court has further ordered that the land be handed back to villagers.

Earlier in May 2012 the Punjab and Haryana High Court had stayed the execution of the sale deed of land purchased by Ghai's Mukta Arts in Badhsa village of Jhajjar district in Haryana.

The orders were issued by the High Court after taking cognizance of a petition alleging favoritism by the Haryana government in granting permission to sell 20 acres of shamlat (common land)....more
