Mumbai: In the Powai land allotment case, the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered an FIR against top Mumbai builder Niranjan Hiranandani and IAS officer TC Benjamin for misuse of government agreement.
A special court on Monday directed the ACB to inquire into a criminal complaint case filed against real estate developer Hiranandani in connection with alleged irregularities in the Powai housing project.
The court directed the ACB while hearing the complaint filed by activist Santosh Daundkar against Hiranandani for allegedly cheating the government by using their land to his benefit.
According to the complaint, in 1977, the state had announced the Powai Housing Development Scheme for the economically weaker sections (EWS), to be implemented over 140 hectares....
