Bhujbal faces fresh charges in another land scam Mumbai: Already under investigation by the states anti-corruption bureau in the multi-crore Maharshtra sadan scam, PWD Minister Chhagan Bhujbal now faces fresh charges. The opposition now alleges that Bhujbal received kickbacks from realty firms for favourably awarding PWD contracts. These kickbacks were routed through companies owned by Bhujbal's family to buy land.

Documents from the registrar of companies and bank accounts details reveal a partnership firm Blue Circle Infratech was formed in 2006. The firm in a series of transactions advanced Rs 34.48 crore to Parvesh Construcution, Rs 5.48 crores in 2007 and Rs 29 crores on April 23, 2010. Parvesh construction is owned by Bhujbal's son Pankaj and nephew Sameer.

Parvesh then transferred the same amount to company Devisha, owned also by the Bhujbal family. Devishah then transferred that money back into Blue Circle Infratech - in lieu of several acres of land.

"Minister's children too have the right to do the business. They don't need anybody's permission," Bhujbal said. BJP leader Kirit Somaiyya in a petition to be filed in the Bombay High Court alleges that big realty firms beneficiaries of the PWD ministers largesse gave kickbacks that were routed to a dummy company Blue Circle Infratech. That money was then routed through several of Bhujbals family firms to buy land....more
