
New Delhi: The BJP launched a blistering attack on the Congress after its Parliamentary Board meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday and said that the party was ready for the next Lok Sabha elections. BJP General Secretary Ananth Kumar accused the UPA government of failing on every front during the last nine years of its rule and claimed that his party would highlight the government's shortcoming and expose it during the next Lok Sabha elections. Kumar also challenged the UPA to call for Lok Sabha elections soon.
Kumar said the BJP-led NDA was ready for Lok Sabha elections. He also added that Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi suggested that the BJP should discuss ad finalise its strategy before cornering and attacking the UPA. Modi said that the BJP should target the UPA only after it has put its final plan in place. Modi also asked the BJP to use the media and social networking sites effectively to reach the youth
The government's tenure came in for close scrutiny at the BJP's Parliamentary Board meeting which was attended by Modi for the first time since being made a member of the highest decision-making body on March 31. As part of its strategy in run up to the next Lok Sabha polls, it was decided that week-long agitation programmes will be undertaken across the country from next Monday to highlight the "failures" of the UPA government which completes nine years on Wednesday.
