BJP attacks UPA on coal scam, says Cong is looting the country New Delhi: The BJP hit out at the UPA government after the CBI registered an FIR against Congress MP Naveen Jindal and former union minister of state for coal Dasari Narayan Rao in the coal blocks allocation scam. BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar accused the Congress of looting the country. "Naveen Jindal and Dasari Narayan's name has come up in the coalgate scam. It has proved how the Congress is looting the country," said Javadekar.

The BJP also demanded the details of the money trail in the coal scam. "The PMO, Coal Ministry and Congress changed the coal report. The PMO should permit questioning as the CBI is demanding of the coal secretary immediately. PMO should not interfere in the functioning of the CBI," said Javadekar.

Congress MP Naveen Jindal and former Minister of State for Coal Dasari Narayan Rao were on Tuesday named as accused in the fresh FIR filed by CBI in connection with the coal allocation scam. The agency has also booked Jindal Steel and Power and four other companies in the scam.

This is the 12th FIR registered by the agency in connection with its probe in coal allocation scam. The sources said Rao has already been questioned by the agency....more
