Northampton: India paceman Zaheer Khan bowled just three overs against Northamptonshire on Saturday, casting further doubt on his ability to shrug off a hamstring injury and make next week's third Test.

The 32-year-old seamer, a crucial part of the Indian Test team which is 2-0 down in the four-match series against England, picked up the injury in the first game at Lord's and missed the second in Trent Bridge.

After Saturday's tour match, India team manager Anirudh Chaudhry said a decision on Zaheer's fitness for the third Test at Edgbaston starting on Wednesday would be made on Sunday.

Giving Zaheer Khan a few overs was always the plan; the reason he did not bowl more was not because of any problem with his hamstring, Chaudhry said....more
