Westwood misses cut in Qatar Open Doha: World No 1 Lee Westwood missed his first cut in over a year on Friday after crashing out of the Qatar Masters at the halfway stage in Doha.

A 18th hole birdie, when the Briton desperately needed an eagle, was little comfort in a round of 75 that saw Westwood miss the halfway cut by a stroke at four-over par.

Westwood commenced the second round at two-over par but proceeded to drop four shots over his outward nine before eight straight pars.

He then found the front edge of the green at the par five 18th, some 25 feet from the flag....more

Federer overcomes Tsonga to reach Doha final Doha: A clinical Roger Federer reached the final of the Qatar Open with a 6-3 7-6 victory over Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on Friday. The Swiss 16-times grand-slam champion stayed on course for an early-season showdown with Rafael Nadal who was up against Russia's Nikolay Davydenko later in the Khalifa Tennis Centre.
