Punjab minister to move HC in daugher's abortion case Jalandhar: Bibi Jagir Kaur, a prominent Akali leader and a minister in the Punjab government, will now spend five years in jail. The former chief of the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandhak Committee has been sentenced for the forced abortion of her daughter Harpreet.



But it could have been worse. Kaur was accused of murdering her daughter over her marriage with a person from a lower caste. The Patiala CBI court has now rejected that charge. Harpreet's husband Kamaljeet Singh is stunned by the court order.
