6 involved in attack on SL team held: Pak police

Lahore: Pakistani police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested six alleged Taliban terrorists involved in an attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team here in March 2009 and said their original plan was to kidnap players and hold them

hostage to seek release of their leaders.



Lahore police chief Aslam Tareen said the arrested men belonged to the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan and were residents of Toba Tek Singh and Bahawalpur in Punjab province and Karachi, the capital of southern Sindh province....more
