Srinagar baby deaths: 'Hospital lacked sanitation' Srinagar: Srinagar's only pediatric hospital, the GB Pant, lacked proper sanitation which was one of the primary reasons behind the 400 infant deaths reported from the hospital earlier this year, an inquiry report has said.

CNN-IBN had first highlighted the issue, after which an inquiry was ordered into the case.

The inquiry found incidents of gross negligence at the hospital. Its report stated that one of the primary reasons for infant deaths was poor sanitation.

Overuse of tubing in ventilators led to spread of infection among infants, the report said....more
