Mumbai: Woman commits suicide as husband watches on a webcam Mumbai: A 27-year-old woman allegedly hanged herself while her husband watched with horror through a laptop webcam in Mumbai. The woman was chatting with her husband and had an argument after the parents of the man allegedly forced him to call off their wedding.

The man, the police say, frantically called the woman's family members but it was too late before anybody could reach the house. She was declared dead on arrival at hospital. The incident took place in Mumbai's Vile Parle.

Initial reports indicated that the two lived separately. Now the police have lodged a dowry case. It seems the couple had secretly married in court. But the man's family reportedly demanded a dowry of Rs 20 lakh.

The police is conducting an investigation into the case. "We have seized the laptop and mobile phone for investigation," said an official. The laptop will be handed over to the Cyber Crime Cell for analysis, the police added....more
