The probe indicated that gunman Wade Michael Page, a white supremacist, acted alone and was not assisted by anyone in committing the violent crime. Carlson added that no evidence was found to conclude that the attack was directed or facilitated by any white supremacist group. "We join the Sikh community in grieving the loss of their loved ones. We continue to work with temple leaders and all of our law enforcement partners in an effort to keep the community safe," he said.

The FBI had briefed the victims and family members of the deceased on the results of the investigation last week at the FBI Milwaukee Division.
