New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday moved the Tis Hazari courts in Delhi seeking extradition of Union Carbide Corporation Chairman Warren Anderson for his involvement in the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy case.
Giving his opinion to the CBI, Attorney General GE Vahanvati on Tuesday said that there is enough proof for Warren Anderson's extradition from the United States.
Vahanvati also told the central investigating agency that Anderson should be made to stand trial.
Warren Anderson was the chairman of the US chemical giant Dow Chemicals in 1984 when deadly methyl iso-cyanate gas leaked from its Bhopal plant leading to the death of at least 15,000 people and injured lakhs more....more
