We were not allowed to wear skirts in school: Sonam Kapoor New Delhi: Bollywood's fashionista Sonam Kapoor might have been seen in innumerable de-glam roles on the silver screen but playing a school girl in 'Raanjhanaa' has been a novel experience for the actress.

"It was a new experience for me to shoot as a school girl in the film. In our school, we were not allowed to wear skirts. We used to wear Nehru pants and shirts, so it was not like revisiting my school days. In fact, it was a novelty for me to see myself in school skirt," she said.

However, it was not just the costume that made Sonam Kapoor pick up the role but she also thoroughly prepared for it by taking inspiration from Hrishikesh Mukherjee's much acclaimed film 'Guddi'.

"I wanted a starting point to prepare for my character and I could only think of Jaya Bachchan in 'Guddi'. I took the spunk and body language from her character in 'Guddi'," added Sonam....more
