New Delhi: The widening net in the IPL spot-fixing and betting case continues to grow by the day. Actor Vindoo Dara Singh's interrogation, which first brought the focus on Chennai Super Kings CEO and BCCI chief N Srinavasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan, has now also reached Pakistani umpire Asad Rauf.
Gurunath Meiyappan was served summons by the Mumbai Police on Thursday to appear before investigators in Mumbai. Meiyappan though has asked for time till Monday. He is alleged to have been involved in cricket betting. Sources have told CNN-IBN that he is unlikely to be questioned till the IPL is over.
Meanwhile, according to the police, the call records of Bollywood actor Vindoo Dara Singh, who was arrested in the IPL betting case on Tuesday, indicated he had made several calls to Chennai and some to Meiyappan. Vindoo Dara Singh's custody also ends on Friday.
All through Thursday, even as dramatic scenes were witnessed at the residence Meiyappan, his whereabouts remained unknown. Besides serving a notice at Gurunath's residence, a copy was also served to a manager in his office. ...
