Brendon Taylor got to his second hundred of the game scoring 102 off 146 balls before declaring the Zimbabwe innings at 227 for 7, setting Bangladesh a target of 483 runs to win. In the second innings, Kyle Jarvis picked up three Bangladesh wickets to finish with match haul of seven wickets in the 1st Test. Chasing 483 to win, Bangladesh slumped to 85 for 5 before Mohd Ashraful and Nasir Hossain combined for a brief period scoring 47 runs between them.

After claiming a five-for in the first innings Rangana Herath once again proved to be the wrecker-in-chief on Day 4 claiming the first four Bangladesh wickets to fall on the day.Herath finished with second innings figures of 7 for 89 as Bangladesh were bundled out for 265. Herth also reached a personal milestone of 200 wickets in 47 matches. Only Mushfiqur Rahim provided some resistance on day four scoring 40 off 87 balls. Lower order of Abul Hasan (25*) and Sohag Gazi (26) too got some runs. Bangladesh set Sri Lanka a target of 160 to win the match.
