I was not hiding, says IPL chief Rajiv Shukla New Delhi: Breaking his silence on the IPL spot-fixing scandal that has maligned Indian cricket, IPL chief Rajiv Shukla has said that he "was not hiding" and the BCCI will do everything it takes "to weed out" corruption.

"I was not hiding. BCCI reacted on the first day, I reacted to PTI on the second day and today I am talking again," Shukla said while speaking to CNN-IBN at his home.

Shukla, who is also vice president of the BCCI, expressed his disappointment at the latest controversy and said that the Indian board will extend its full cooperation to police investigation. "We are all very sad. The league was going fantastically and suddenly this happened. BCCI and IPL will cooperate with Delhi Police and those found guilty shall be severely punished. Whatever is needed to weed out such elements will be done by BCCI."

The IPL chief also defended ICC's Anti-Corruption Unit, saying that it is wrong to say that the body has failed. "ICC Anti-Corruption Unit, along with the BCCI, is engaged to control these things. Wrong to say that ICC Anti-Corruption Unit has failed as they have their own limitations."...more
