Jagan Mohan Reddy slams vendetta politics Hyderabad: YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy himself is under the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) scanner and his political worries are growing especially because both the principal Opposition party in the State the Teleugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Ruling Congress have now focussed their offensive on allegations of Jagan Reddy's links to the Bellary mining barons.

Jagan Mohan Reddy said, "This is all political vendetta. Why did they not make these allegations when my father was alive and I was in the Congress."

But despite his repeated denials the challenge would be to combat the CBI which is probing specific allegations linking Jagan to the Bellary Reddys. These include ascertaining if the profits of illegal mining from Bellary were used in Jagan's business ventures. Ascertaining names of all public servants involved in facilitating the illegal activities of the Reddy brothers and to find out if rules were flouted by the YSR government to allot mining licenses in a quid pro quo arrangement.

Reddy also said, "The CBI has not been able to prove any quid pro quo between me and the Bellary mining barons."...more
