Art show 'Biennale' comes to India, Kochi to host event Kochi: As the curtains go up at the greatest show of contemporary art around the globe, we realise that this time, the world famous 'Biennale' is happening in God's own country. The spectacular art show has come to India's shores. During the three-month long event, around 80 contemporary artists from 24 countries will showcase their artistic masterpieces.

"This kind of exposure is tremendous rare opportunity to see the best in the world," said Hormis Tharakan of the organising committee.

The inaugural event saw a sizzling performance from the Oscar-nominated English performer M.I.A. It's not just art that's got Kochi going gaga about 'Biennale', what the art show brings with it is a huge potential for the ailing tourist industry. The next three months will tell us whether the 'Biennale' is going to stay a regular feature or not in Kerala's itinerary....more
